I looked up at you, smiling, passion in my face
You said, I was just the same as all the other devastating
Hotshots you ve been with thinking they re something new
Vocalized how I was ordinary and a fool
For sleeping with symphonies, flirting with guitar strings
Professing my love and yes, making out with ivories
And just as you almost left you stopped at the door
When I played the first note and sang and heard you say, My God, keep going finally, something that I ve never heard before.

Happy to be where we were at that point in time
We had accomplished something brand new
